Welcome to Lahemaa!

When you come riding with us, preparing your horse is part of the experience. This includes brushing and helping to tack up your horse before the ride. Don’t 1worry if this is new to you — we’ll be there to guide you and help every step of the way.

We believe this preparation time is an important part of connecting with the horse you’ll be riding, and it helps make the experience more meaningful and memorable.

Because of this, the total time you spend with us will be a bit longer than the riding time itself. For example, a 1-hour trail ride usually means you’ll be with us for about 2 hours in total: around 30 minutes to brush and tack up your horse, a 1-hour ride, and up to 30 minutes afterwards to untack and care for the horse.

Thank you ❤

What will it look like?

Riding lesson

In a lesson, there are usually 1-3 riders. The lesson starts with catching your horse from the pasture, cleaning them and tacking up. Then we ride in an outdoor sand arena for approximately an hour. After the lesson we take off the riding gear and care for the horse, brushing, if needed then blanketing, giving them carrots etc. All in all it usually takes about two hours.

Pony club lesson

Pony club is suitable for small children 3-8 years old. We learn how to catch and lead a small pony, brush and care for her and tack up. Usually we ride her for about 15-20 minutes, a little bit of learning correct cues, as well as gymnastic exercises to improve balance and flexibility (in a fun way!) It takes about an hour all together.

Trail ride

The beginning of a trail ride is the same as for a lesson, same procedures. Only change is that we will be riding through lovely pine forests, sometimes fields and on the beach. If you are a beginner, we usually start off in the outdoor arena so we can give you a crash course on everything you need to know. An experienced tour guide will always accompany you. If you are a bit timid, then the guide can also walk beside you and have your horse following on a rope.

Event at our stable

You can also rent our stable for your event – from birthdays to other fun gatherings. The price includes the use of our complex, pony or/and horse rides for 1 hour and if you wish we can do some fun games as well. All activities are outside, usually we don’t offer catering but all can be organized if needed.

Private horse upkeep

May-September

In the summer we have three different options for horses. The cheapest is a very large paddock/field, no additional feeding, only access to mineral block and water. Suitable for young or retired horses. Then there are smaller paddocks where horses can graze and are given additional hay daily. And lastly there is a diet option of only eating 100% hay without grazing, suitable for laminitic horses. All horses are well cared for and monitored daily, blanketing and hard feed given at owners directive.

Private horse upkeep

October-April

In the winter all horses have access to hay or silage 24/7. We feed round bales, covered with hay nets. Access to clean water and mineral block too of course. Daily mineral-vitamin supplements are included in the price. No extra cost for blanketing or giving hard feed 1x a day. Horses are in small herd groups or pairs, depending on their personalities and feeding requirements.

Pony for your event!

Our lovely, safe and friendly ponies are happy to come to your event as well! Usually we take two ponies, one bigger and the other smaller – that way the horses feel safer together and are nice and calm. The price varies depending on the distance we have to drive + the duration of our stay. Prices vary from 50€ to 200€, depends on a lot of factors.
